HELLYEAH: Reason Behind Bassist's Departure Revealed?
May 20, 2007TheMetalDen.com has published the alleged details of the events that led to bassist Jerry Montano's abrupt exit from HELLYEAH. You can read the entire story at this location.
Although no official explanation was given for Montano's departure, the group's publicist told Headbangers Ball Blog last month that "personal reasons on both sides" caused him to leave. Bob "Zilla" Kakaha (ex-DAMAGEPLAN) has since been named HELLYEAH's bassist for the band's upcoming tour dates.
HELLYEAH will launch the "Fire It Up" tour tonight (May 20) in Baltimore before making its way to England for an appearance at this year's Download festival.
HELLYEAH will take part in this summer's Family Values Tour. Also taking part in the trek are EVANESCENCE, ATREYU, TRIVIUM and FLYLEAF, alongside headliners KORN.
HELLYEAH's self-titled debut album sold just under 45,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart.
A three-minute clip featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the making of HELLYEAH's "You Wouldn't Know" video has been posted at YouTube. The clip was shot on February 25, 2007 with director Nathan Cox in the parking lot of the Dallas, Texas stripclub owned by Vinnie Paul Abbott. The finished "You Wouldn't Know" video is available for viewing at this location.
